Award for product innovation

Mars minis from Mars Ice Cream have won the Product of the Year Award 2014, a consumer voted award for product innovation. This is the second consecutive win in two ears for Mars Ice Cream, having won the award for Twix ice creams last year.

Mars Ice Cream allows consumers to enjoy well-known chocolate brands in dairy ice cream. In this way Mars considers itself uniquely positioned to build on the heritage and scale of iconic brands such as Mars, Snickers, Maltesers and Galaxy, and Mars expects further volume and sales growth in 2014.

James Hay, senior brand manager at Mars Ice Cream, says: “We are particularly excited about this, our second ‘Product of the Year Award’ win in two years. Mars Ice Cream offers best-selling consumer favourites across a variety of formats. We are committed to supporting retailers and growing the category in 2014, and are excited about our on-going success. As 2014 gets underway, we are expecting to see even more significant increase in sales.”

Mike Nolan, CEO at Product of the Year says: “Product of the Year is at the forefront of product innovation. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary in the UK this year, we’re delighted to announce winning products for 2014, which include some truly first rate innovation across the FMCG sector.”
