Ice cream franchises in Florida

Carvel Ice Cream has announced that it is seeking franchisees in order to expand its presence in Florida. Carvel hopes to develop new full shops in the Orlando, Tampa and southern markets, and franchisees can also open express shops throughout the state in non-traditional markets such as airports, universities and malls etc.

Carvel is known for its signature ice cream cakes, Fudgie the Whale character, freshly made soft ice cream and other hand-crafted novelty treats.

“There’s tremendous buzz about Carvel in Florida right now,” said Carvel president Scott Colwell. “Loyal customers are excited about the new look, the new menu innovations and they’re asking us to open more shops throughout the state.”

The total initial investment for a full-service Carvel shop ranges from $250,000 to $381,100 and varies based on location, square footage and equipment package. Full-service Carvel shops range in size from 800 to 1,200 square feet. For express shops, which are 100 to 300 square feet and located inside host brands, the typical development cost ranges from $37,100 to $119,000.
