Peri-salted potato chips

Nando’s is extending its portfolio of Grooves cut potato chips by adding a peri-salted twist to its offering.

The peri-salted chips are the latest addition to the Grooves range, which includes: Smokey BBQ, Spicy Chicken and Sizzling Hot.

Declan Lockett, marketing director at All About Food, which produces at-home products under licence for Nando’s, says, “We spotted an opportunity to extend our portfolio by launching a product that adds a subtle variation on one of the classic flavours of crisps available on the market, original salted. The unique flavour of peri-salted is a milder taste to the other products in the Grooves range, whilst still having the famous Nando’s peri-peri kick. The strength of this new flavour, coupled with the popularity of the brand means Nando’s peri-peri Grooves range will certainly spice up the snacking category.

“We’ve also created a support package to support the launch, which includes in-store support, POS materials, promotions & sampling. The launch will also be promoted via our digital channels.”

Nando’s peri-peri chips are available in convenience and wholesale channels and have a RRP of £1.99 for the 150g pack, £1 for the 90g pack and £0.69 for the 40g pack. They will launch exclusively to One Stop for two weeks from 26 January, followed by other retailers including; Londis, dhamecha, DDC Foods and Sugro in February.
