Two new TV campaigns for Mentos gum

Perfetti Van Melle has introduced two UK tv campaigns across its range of Mentos chewing gum. The two new TV adverts featuring Mentos Gum stick packs and new Mentos 3 Layers will run on national television throughout May and June.

The national TV adverts are part of Perfetti Van Melle’s largest brand support to date, which also includes national sampling and social media campaigns.

Mentos Gum stick packs are available in Peppermint, Spearmint and Air Action flavours with an rrp of 35p. Mentos 3 Layers is the latest edition to the Mentos Pure Fresh chewing gum range and delivers lasting freshness through 3 layers of chewing gum. The TV advert plays on the benefits of 3 layers of gum through a humorous demonstration that ‘One’s Good, Three’s Better’.

Also in May Mentos Gum will literally be hitting the streets – for a month of national sampling. The “Gum on the Run” campaign will visit eight cities nationwide and deliver over half a million sample packs and an opportunity to win prizes if you spot a giant, 3m long, Mentos Gum pack – on the run!

Perfetti van Melle brand manager, Aimee Reason says, “With Mentos UK chewing gum sales approaching £10 million in 2010, up 141% year on year the two new TV campaigns will build on the brand’s momentum by raising brand awareness amongst our 15-35 target audience which is the core consumption age group for chewing gum in the UK”.
