Walkers unveils Bugles crunchy cone crisps

Savoury snacking brand Walkers is launching Bugles crunchy cone-shaped crisps, aimed at the UK’s impulse channel.

Available to convenience retailers from the end of June, Bugles will be sold in sharing 110g packs (RRP: £1.99), in Cheese, Sour Cream & Black Pepper as well as Southern Style BBQ flavours. Single 30g packs (RRP: £0.57) and multipacks (RRP: £1.50 for 6 packs) will be available in Cheese and Southern style BBQ flavours.

Walkers says the launch follows the success of its MixUps range, which was introduced last year and combines four flavours in one bag (Wotsits, French Fries, Monster Munch and Doritos).

Nick McGarth, senior sales director for impulse at PepsiCo, notes, “We are excited to bring Bugles to the impulse channel, the range has been popular throughout Europe and North America due to its fun shape, tasty crunch and great flavours and we are confident that launching the product in the UK will fuel snacking sales for retailers here.”

He adds that the snacking category is already growing at 2.7% year on year.

The launch will be supported with a new TV campaign, as well as a social media campaign and in store shopper marketing. Walkers says it is also helping retailers maximise sales offered by the Bugles launch by producing a four case mixed stacker of Bugles and Doritos best sellers.
