Burton’s achieves Wal-Mart distribution deal

Burton’s Foods, the UK biscuit producer, has struck a distribution deal in the US and Mexico with Wal-Mart Stores for its Cadbury Fingers biscuits.

The company, which produces Cadbury biscuits under a licence agreement and owns brands such as Jammie Dodgers, says that it plans to increase the exports of the UK manufactured biscuits using Wal-Mart’s international retail distribution and logistics network .
Burton’s will launch ­directly into about 1,000 stores, focusing on Cadbury Fingers and ­seasonal lines in its wider biscuit range. Chief commercial officer Steve Newiss, notes that Burton’s expects to have increased its international turnover by 60% by the end of next year.
