Burton’s achieves Wal-Mart distribution deal

Burton’s Foods, the UK biscuit producer, has struck a distribution deal in the US and Mexico with Wal-Mart Stores for its Cadbury Fingers biscuits.
The company, which produces Cadbury biscuits under a licence agreement and owns brands such as Jammie Dodgers, says that it plans to increase the exports of the UK manufactured biscuits using Wal-Mart’s international retail distribution and logistics network .
Burton’s will launch directly into about 1,000 stores, focusing on Cadbury Fingers and seasonal lines in its wider biscuit range. Chief commercial officer Steve Newiss, notes that Burton’s expects to have increased its international turnover by 60% by the end of next year.
