UK free from chocolate brand NOMO has scooped up gold, silver and bronze awards in the confectionery category at the annual Free From Food awards. It delighted in securing gold for its Caramel Filled Bar, silver for its Caramel Drops and bronze for its Hazelnot Crunch with the wins capping off the brands’ second birthday celebrations. The event was livestreamed and is available to re-watch at Free From Food Awards 2021.
Established in 2008, the prestigious awards are the UK’s only awards dedicated to free from food and drink. This year it welcomed over 600 entries across a spectrum of categories – including breakfast foods, artisan foods and breads. A highly dedicated team of judges – including manufacturers, product developers, chefs, nutritionists, and allergy reactors – scrutinised and discussed each entry.
Since its inception in 2019, the UK’s number one vegan and free-from chocolate brand has sold over 6.6 million units amounting to 352 tonnes – the equivalent of 28 London double decker buses. Between March 2020–2021 NOMO products were being bought five times a minute on average.
The popularity of its products is rooted in the fact they give everyone, no matter their allergy, intolerance, or dietary requirements the opportunity to taste delicious treats – with NOMO boasting a main range of seven delicious flavours.
Jacqueline Tyrrell, brand manager at NOMO said: “Being awarded gold, silver and bronze awards at such a well-loved awards ceremony is a brilliant feeling and a huge step for a brand that has only just celebrated its second birthday. We are committed to our belief that vegan and free-from consumers deserve a wide variety of choice – so it’s fantastic that our products are regarded so highly in the industry.
The brand recently launched a search for Britain’s top tasting talent as it hunts for three chocolate tasters ahead of releasing its new range of products later this year. To apply, chocoholics must send a summary of why they should be picked to [email protected]. Entries close 5:00pm Friday 11 June 2021.
