Popcorn Shed announces its alternative advent calendar offering

This year, the popcorn brand Popcorn Shed is offering two advent calendars; Gourmet and Vegan Gourmet, retailing at £25 each.

Behind each of the 24 windows you’ll find a bag of ridiculously delicious handmade popcorn.
24 bags, 6 gourmet popcorn flavours in each calendar.

The Vegan Gourmet calendar contains the following flavours:

Butterscotch – sweet, buttery and smooth butterscotch popcorn with a hint of sea salt. It’s buttery without butter, call that a magic trick! (Great Taste Award winning 2018).
Cherry Pie – caramel almond gourmet popcorn with real freeze dried cherries. Sweet, nutty and with a hint of fruitiness, it tastes just like a cherry bakewell tart.
Choc ‘N’ Roll – cocoa infused caramel popcorn. Sweet, smooth and ridiculously addictive, every chocolate lover will love this one!
Chocolate Orange – crunchy popped corn with orange infused caramel and a rich layer of Belgian dark chocolate. There’s a magical burst of flavour in every single bite!

Gingerbread – popcorn coated with a sweet caramel, infused with ginger and festive spices. It’s the treat of the season.

The Gourmet calendar contains the following flavours:

Salted Caramel – the perfect combination of intense sea-salted caramel popcorn topped with velvety, creamy Belgian milk chocolate (Great Taste Award winning 2017).
Berry-licious – a magical mixture of fruity and sweet raspberry caramel popcorn and indulgent smooth rich dark chocolate (Great Taste Award winning 2018).
Peanut Butter – rich and creamy peanut butter caramel, topped with real peanut halves for an irresistible crunch.
Pop N Choc – a smooth cocoa-infused caramel popcorn accompanied by creamy Belgian milk chocolate for a double whammy of chocolate.
Pecan Pie – nutty, buttery, smooth caramel popcorn with added pecans for a textural sensation and nutty crunch.
Cookies & Cream – smooth white chocolate caramel popcorn topped with cookie crumb pieces.

If you go back a few decades, advent calendars were filled with holy messages to remind people of the religious meaning behind the festive period. Then a few chocolate pieces hidden behind cardboard doors were enough to get people through the days leading up to Christmas, however, today, consumers are looking for more exciting and innovative luxury options for their advent calendars.

Advent calendars alone helped grow retailers’ sales by 20% last year. The trend for alternative luxury advent calendars is on the rise. According to a leading UK department store customers spent £3 million on advent calendars, with premium calendars accounting for two-thirds of all sales.
