Corn Nuts is expanding beyond its traditional corn kernel offering with the introduction of Partially Popped corn kernels. The new product range is designed to combine the texture of popcorn with the crunch associated with Corn Nuts.
The range includes three flavours:
-
White Cheddar – a creamy cheese flavour
-
Movie Theater Butter – a buttery flavour reminiscent of cinema-style popcorn
-
Kickin’ Cheddar – a cheddar cheese flavour with a mild spicy kick
According to Tim Bortner, brand manager for the Corn Nuts brand, the aim of the new line was to create a snack that maintains the brand’s signature crunch while introducing a lighter, popcorn-inspired texture.
Corn Nuts Partially Popped corn kernels are sold in 3-ounce (approximately 85g) bags, with a recommended retail price between $1.99 and $2.49. The product is being introduced as a limited release, available at select 7-Eleven, Speedway and Circle K locations in the United States.
The launch is positioned to meet demand for portable snack options, with convenience store visits averaging over 260 times per year per consumer in the U.S., according to the brand.
