In partnership with Netflix’s Stranger Things, Chips Ahoy! has announced the launch of a limited-edition cookie and a retro packaging update tied to the series’ upcoming final season. The collaboration includes a special-edition cookie with strawberry-flavoured red filling, designed to reference the show’s alternate dimension known as the “Upside Down.”
The Chips Ahoy! x Stranger Things Limited-Edition Cookie features a chocolate-flavoured base with fudge chips and a visible red centre. This marks the brand’s first cookie to include a fruit-flavoured filling. The product will be available across the United States beginning 11 August, with early access offered through a pre-sale limited to the first 1,500 registrants at snackworks.com/chipsahoy-strangerthings. The cookies will retail starting at $5.79 and will also be available in two-count portion packs.
In addition to the new product, Chips Ahoy! will reintroduce retro-inspired packaging for its Original cookie range, designed to reflect the brand’s visual identity from the 1980s — the same era in which Stranger Things is set.
To support the campaign, an augmented reality game will launch on 11 August, accessible via QR codes printed on product packaging or at chipsahoyscan.com. The game invites users to locate virtual cookies hidden throughout various levels based on the Stranger Things universe. Participants may qualify for a chance to win promotional items, including a guitar modelled after the one used by the character Eddie Munson, as well as other branded merchandise. No purchase is necessary to enter.
