The most missed sweet

In a survey of 620 shoppers that asked which sweets they’d like to see make a comeback, Spangles came out of top with 18 per cent of the votes.

Chocolate bar Banjo came second, followed by Fry’s Five Centres, Golden Cup, Galaxy Counters and Toffos. Treets, Candy whistles and Fuse bars took the bottom three spots with four, two and one per cent respectively.

Other sweets and chocolate bars respondents mentioned included Pacers, Fruit Polo’s, Mintola, Grand Seville, Bitz bars, Space Dust and Cabana.

A spokesperson for NetVoucherCodes.co.uk, the organisers of the survey, says, “It’s funny how as the years pass we become nostalgic about things we loved as kids and strange how all of a sudden we miss them.

“I have to admit I loved Spangles and adored Fry’s Five Centres. They certainly don’t make them like they used to.”
