Putting mochi on the map

V&H, a British producer of luxury Japanese mochi, has secured new stockists for its two retail brands, allowing the business to reach more consumers than ever before.

Little Moons, frozen mochi ice cream that comes in six unique flavours, has experienced record sales since its summer2015 launch, says the company.

This has allowed the brand to expand into Partridges and for V&H’s other range, Tsuki Mochi, which is a line of mochi truffles available in two varieties, to also secure a listing with Whole Foods Market.

Gaining these new stockists is an important development for the business, which is implementing a wider retail rollout as part of its mission to put mochi on the map in Britain. These stockists will join the existing retailer network, which also includes Selfridges.

Co-founder Howard Wong says: “Growing sales of our two mochi brands, Little Moons and Tsuki Mochi, has been fuelled by an increase in consumer demand for innovation in the chilled and frozen dessert categories and has enabled the brand to expand its distribution network.

“Whole Foods Market and Partridges are the perfect premium partners to complement our portfolio of existing stockists and will allow more people than ever to experience mochi, which we believe is set to be a significant culinary trend in 2016.”
