Froneri announces new Rowntree’s lollies with chocolate décor technology

International ice cream company Froneri has announced a new SKU to its Rowntree’s ice lolly range: Ocean Adventure, featuring innovative chocolate decoration technology on each tropical sorbet and creamy vanilla ice lolly.

Launching February 2022, the Rowntree’s Ocean Adventure ice lollies are a tasty permissible treat that the whole family will love as a snack or after dinner, according to Froneri.

Rowntree’s has experienced +22.3% growth in the last two years (Nielsen, Total Coverage, 52we 25.12.21, Value) and Rowntree’s Ocean Adventure is set to build further excitement for the brand.

The Ocean Adventure ice lollies combine smooth vanilla ice cream and fruity tropical sorbet, topped with milk chocolate décor to create fun fish and shark characters. The new offering has 69 calories per lolly and over 10.5% fruit juice content from concentrate.

Rowntree’s has sold over £31m CSV of the fruit shaped lollies since their launch and are now worth 25% of the Rowntree’s brand value. Rowntree’s is now set to take their shaped lollies to the next level with Ocean Adventure, using innovative chocolate decoration technology making every pack unique.

Rowntree’s is first to market this new technology, with each fruity 5-pack containing both fish and shark character shapes with unique “personalities” in every pack, adding more choice, excitement, and variety for the whole family, says Froneri.

The unique product is set to strengthen the brands’ variety of ice-lolly offerings, which already includes the likes of: Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles, Rowntree’s Fruit Stack, Rowntree’s Watermelon and others.

Brand manager Jelena Aleksic of Rowntree’s said: “We’re so excited to be the first to launch this product to market. The development of the product tested extremely well in research and showed us that not only children love our Ocean Adventure lollies, but adults do, too. Research showed that 8 out 10 would purchase” (Happy Thinking product research 2021).

“With the delicious combination of vanilla ice cream and fruity sorbet flavour, and the fun milk chocolate décor, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy in the Rowntree’s Ocean Adventure pack.”
