Tilly’s secures Morrison’s deal

Tilly Confectionery, manufacturers of the Mrs Tilly’s range of traditional Scottish tablet, fudge and macaroon has secured a Scotland wide listing with major retailer Morrisons that will see it launch its traditional confectionery bars across 61 of the supermarkets stores, as well as a further 48 of Morrisons petrol filling stations.
Blair Paterson, managing director, says, “We are delighted to have gained this business with Morrisons and having our bars available through their petrol filling stations is an added bonus as our products are a perfect impulse pick up. We have been working with the Morrisons buying team for a number of months now and it is clear that they are focussed on enhancing their Scottish offering and we are excited to be part of that.”
Angus Bell, Morrisons category manager for Scotland, comments, “Mrs Tilly’s is a great Scottish brand and we’re delighted to stock it in our supermarkets and petrol stations across Scotland. This is a great example of how we are actively looking to stock local brands and products which is what our customers tell us they want to see in store.”
The new listing comes at a busy time for Mrs Tilly’s as it begins commissioning two new production lines to support their strong growth and development at home and abroad.
“We have a number of exciting new products including All Butter Toffee and a range of premium gift tins launching over the next few months all of which have been carefully developed to meet the very high standards that consumers expect from Mrs Tilly’s. When my mother and father started this business in our family kitchen almost 20 years ago, it was all about quality and that always remains at the heart of everything we do,” adds Peterson.
