Ombar secures Waitrose listing
Raw cacao chocolate brand Ombar has secured a listing in Waitrose for its new 70g bars.
The raw cacao brand, produced by Cambridge-based Mood Foods, has a mixture of 35g Ombar bars and 25g packs of Ombar Buttons in its current 13-strong range.
Ombar chocolate is made from raw Ecuadorian cacao and uses organic ingredients. All products are dairy and gluten-free and suitable for vegans.
Waitrose will stock 72% Cacao, Coco Mylk and new flavour addition Coco Almond in the new 70g size.
Richard Turner, founder of Mood Foods, says, “We believe that this will be a mutually beneficial endeavour that will hugely support Ombar’s distribution and drive sales of our chocolate in its new format, while also boosting Waitrose’s speciality chocolate offering with a raw, organic and dairy free option that comes in a variety of exciting flavours and tastes genuinely delicious.”
Ombar 70g bars will be available from 256 Waitrose stores in the UK for £2.99 from next week.
