New cross-category portion-controlled snack brand

New portion-controlled snack brand Tasty Little Numbers has been launched in the UK. Everything in the range is produced using normal ingredients and pre-portioned to simple, whole numbers of calories e.g. 100 or 200 calorie servings.
This cross-category brand has been created to be the ‘The snacks that take the messin’ out of guessin’ with its real food, portioned concept. Tasty Little Numbers has gained national retail listings in over 500 One Stop stores, Amazon.co.uk, national foodservice wholesalers 3663 and DDC Foods, and a number of contract caterers including Compass and Bartlett Mitchell.
Concept creator Jo Beach explains, “Often, to make a ‘healthy’ product, the fat will be reduced with extra sugar and salt added to compensate. Tasty Little Numbers doesn’t do this – its USP is its convenient, built-in portion-control, which allows consumers to enjoy the food they really want whilst still being able to ‘finish off’ the bar, bag or plate, which is something we are all conditioned to do from a young age.”
Frances Nethersole, a registered dietician and a member of the British Dietetic Association, comments, “Whilst the Tasty Little Numbers brand makes no claims for weight-loss, a pre-portioned food range that may assist some people to manage their daily food intake more easily, has to be seen as a positive step in this current climate of an obesity endemic population.”
The current range of 11 SKU’s includes chocolate bars, savoury snacks and ‘Heat & Eat’ microwaveable snack-pots and has a 2-year NPD programme in place. The brand’s global master sales and distribution is exclusively licensed to Bidvest Logistics, an international subsidiary of the Bidvest Group.
