Revolymer enters 450 retail chains

Revolymer, has gained additional day‐to‐day retail distribution in over 450 retail chains in the US, with in excess of 4,000 stores now stocking Rev7 removable, degradable chewing gum.
The latest convenience chain to stock the gum is QuikTrip, which has over 600 stores in ten states making it one of the highest volume convenience stores in the US. Fasmart Shore Stop, with over 200 stores based primarily on the East Coast, will also stock the product from the beginning of March, as will Unified Stores, based in California with 150 stores.
Chris Tamillo, VP sales and marketing says, “ We are delighted that QuikTrip, Fasmart and Unified are on our list of retail chains that have the product in their planogram. To put the positive environmental impact in context, the disposal of one pack of conventional chewing gum has the same environmental impact as one plastic bag and this, in the US alone, equates to over 20 billion plastic bags of pollution from gum every year.“
“Rev7 degradable gum offers a solution to this issue. However, the real success of the gum, which is confirmed by consumer feedback, is that Rev7 meets two as yet unmet needs in the market for a gum that has both a long lasting flavour and that can be chewed for longer without going hard like other gums.”
Roger Pettman, chairman and CEO of Revolymer says, “ Revolymer is going from strength to strength and is rapidly expanding in the US and we will be looking to introduce the product into Europe in 2012. In late 2011, we received the final approval to market Rev7 in Europe which is the first new gumbase ingredient for over 30 years.”
