Forest of Hope wins new food product of the year award
Forest of Hope has bagged itself the coveted ‘new food product of the year’ award at the annual Food Matters awards 2021 for its fair trade, milk chocolate surprise egg. The prestigious awards were held from 29-30 June via livestream. The awards attracted entries from all over the world, across ten inspirational categories, each celebrating outstanding innovations across the food, drink and nutrition sectors.
A highly dedicated team of judges – including manufacturers, product developers and chefs – scrutinised and discussed each entry, awarding Forest of Hope its first award win, just four months after launching.
Since launching in Co-Op in the UK in March 2021, Forest of Hope has come on leaps and bounds, now also available in both Tesco Ireland and Holland and Barrett, with further store opportunities on the horizon. Forest of Hope chocolate eggs are the first ever sustainable kids chocolate surprise egg, a truly new and innovative product within their category; they are palm oil free, nut free, plastic free, 100% recyclable and Fairtrade accredited. As well as this, they also have a wealth of activities to complete and challenge cards to collect within their packaging, making them an exciting confectionery product for kids too.
Forest of Hope works closely with farmers in Sierra Leone’s Gola Rainforest who grow their cocoa in harmony with the surroundings to protect it and its endangered wildlife, whilst creating a livelihood for farmers’ families and building local communities.
Tara Stevens, brand manager of Forest of Hope, said:”Being awarded new food product of the year at such prestigious awards is a real honour. The team has worked so hard to create a product that is exciting, delicious and sustainable. It is a brilliant feeling to have this recognition and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
Forest of Hope surprise eggs are available to purchase from Co-Op, Holland and Barrett, Tesco Ireland and online at www.forestofhope.com with an RRP of 0.85p.
