Bad Brownie starts the New Year with keto offering

To help consumers in whatever healthier New Year’s resolutions they may be setting this time of year, UK gourmet brownie company, Bad Brownie, has created a new indulgent keto brownie.

Keto ranked as the most searched for diet in 2021 according to Google search data – proving to be the most popular alternative diet with 201,000 searches each month. This diet is a low carb, high fat diet, reducing carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat. The reduction in carbs puts your body into a metabolic state and when this happens your body becomes incredibly efficient at burning fat for energy.

Intermittent fasting methods came in second as the most popular alternative diet in the UK, with Brits searching for this 110,000 times each month. This lifestyle mostly involves daily 16-hour fasts, or fasting for 24 hours twice a week.

Taking third place was the Mediterranean diet with over 49,000 UK Google searches. This diet requires adaptors to reduce meat intake and instead encourages eating plenty of starchy foods and lots of fruit and vegetables.

London takes the top spot for the most interesting city to learn about keto, with 22,000 residents searching for keto each month on Google.

Ranking behind London, Birmingham took second place with a lower, but healthy, 3,600 searches per month for keto. Manchester rounded off the top three with 2,400 searches a month, respectively.
