New confectionery brand Fatso is launching what is calls a ‘rule-breaking’ chocolate bar that challenges ideas of dark chocolate being ‘boring’ compared to its milk counterpart.

Fatso is launching onto UK shelves from 21 March in three chunky bars:

  • Morn’n Glory is a 60% cacao breakfast-inspired combination of cornflake, toast and orange marmalade.
  • Home Run is a 60% cacao bar that takes inspiration from the US baseball game with its bumper chunks of salted pretzel, whole almonds and honeycomb.
  • Nan’s Stash is 70% cacao and pays homage to sneaky snacking Nanna’s everywhere. Nan’s biscuit tin in a bar; it’s packed with peanuts, toffee and digestive biscuits.

“Us Fatsos are real foodies, and we love dark chocolate. But we’ve always wondered why it takes itself so seriously! So we came up with the idea to create a super chunky, high quality dark chocolate bar, that went all in on its ethics and flavour combinations and wasn’t afraid to have a bit of fun” Says Fatso’s Ella McKay.

“Fatso is about embracing More. More Chunk, More Flavour, More Ethics, More Care. More Love. Because we believe that More Matters. It’s about bucking the rules, but never the quality.”

Fatso sources its single origin, cacao from family-owned Luker’s Farm in Colombia. Luker puts sustainability, ethics and philanthropy at the heart of its business and has been awarded Fino De Aroma quality credentials, which only 8% of the world’s cocoa growers are awarded.

Fatso is available now to retailers, cafes and hospitality venues nationwide. RRP £5.95 per 150g bar.
