Perkier announces its move to become HFSS compliant
Perkier, the fastest growing healthy snack bar in the UK has today announced a number of its products are now HFSS ready. This latest product development comes following Government legislation from the Department of Health and Social Care which aims to reduce rates of Obesity in England by restricting promotions of products high in fat, sugar or salt (HFSS) in retail settings and the out of home sector. This new rule will come into effect in October 2022.
Perkier, who have ensured that their products are ready ahead of October, have announced that their Salted Caramel, Cocao and Orange, Crunchy Peanut and Cranberry and Goji editions are now in line with the guidelines.
Ann Perkins, founder of Perkier says: “Every snack we make tastes good, does you good, and doesn’t mess up the planet! So becoming HFSS-Ready was a no brainer! We’re excited to be rolling out our Nutritious Energy bars into thousands of retail stores ahead of October, with no compromise on our taste rating of 4.8 stars, and they’re sustainable to boot! We’re now working on the next HFSS-ready range and disruptive communications to truly make Perkier famous.”
Perkier’s range already boasts a host of nutritional benefits such as being packed full of protein, have 100% more fibre high in fibre and 40% less sugar than competitors as well as being vegan, gluten free and no palm oil. The brand has also recently announced it is carbon-neutral. Working with ClimatePartner, a leading corporate climate action solutions provider, Perkier has measured their full carbon footprint. This is a key step, in a commitment to be Net Zero by 2030.
