Pri’s Puddings brand launches in Boots

With HFSS regulation rolling out in October 2022, retailers including Boots are starting to introduce HFSS bays into stores. The HFSS regulations provide for restrictions on the placement in retail stores and their online equivalents of certain foods and drinks that are high in fat, salt or sugar (HFSS) or ‘less healthy’.
Pri’s Puddings, a plant-based confectionery brand, will be one of the few brands located on this bay from 26 September 2022, as part of a trial by Boots as it tackles the HFSS legislation. 70% of products in meal deals will also be impacted by the legislation due to their prime positioning near the front of the store, and multi-buy discount, presenting an opportunity for HFSS compliant brands to replace traditional confectionery and healthy snacking options.
Upon changing their recipe formulations in December 2021, Pri’s Puddings were one of the first UK confectionery brands to be HFSS compliant with their ‘healthy twist’ on American confectionery. The brand has prioritised health as well as decadence when developing their product range to ensure HFSS compliance. Their delicious pie range will be an excellent accompaniment to any main and drink within the Boots meal deal.
Their better for you treats have gone against the grain, disrupting the world of traditional confectionery and healthy snacking . Pri’s Puddings are eliminating the compromise consumers face, when choosing between a healthy snack and indulgent confectionery. Their pudding range wins in both aspects. The better for you treats contain up to 75% less sugar compared to your average health food bar and also contains on average, less than 1g of saturated fat per serving, versus 7g in traditional confectionery.
The snacks are available in Boots stores nationwide from 26 September 2022.
