Bliss Crispy Mallow arrives in Tesco stores

Bliss, the health-conscious snack brand, has announced its first supermarket listing of its newest product, Crispy Mallow bars nationwide in Tesco stores and online. Adding a sprinkling of magic to the occasion, the independent UK company has celebrated the news by introducing the latest enchanting member of the Bliss team, Chris P Mallow, the unicorn.

Marking this momentous occasion, Bliss orchestrated a city centre takeover, spreading joy, unicorn hugs and 13,000 product samples across Bliss’ hometown of Glasgow, where the brand’s owners and creators, Lightbody Ventures Ltd. is based.

The first Bliss product range to be HFSS (High in Fat, Salt, and Sugar) compliant, Crispy Mallow bars are gluten-free, high in fibre and vegetarian-friendly. At just 70 calories, they contain 30% less sugar than similar competitor brands.

Neil Stewart, managing director, Lightbody Ventures Limited, brand owner of Bliss said: “Bliss bars have always been seen as a healthier alternative to chocolate and a guilt-free tasty indulgence by our customers. However, we wanted to do something a little different with Crispy Mallow, one that the whole family would enjoy. Challenging ourselves to create a product that was HFSS compliant, without compromising on taste or price-point, became the proverbial unicorn in the room.

“It took a lot of work, but we’re thrilled with the results. Our Crispy Mallow and Crispy Chocolate Delight bars have received immense praise from our customers and securing that Tesco listing has been a long-standing ambition since we launched Bliss less than five years ago. We can’t wait to see where Bliss goes from here.”

Having built an award-winning global reputation as an independent food creator and producer, working with the likes of Disney, Weight Watchers and Hershey, Bliss is Lightbody Ventures’ first own brand product. Since the launch of its first Bliss Whip bars in 2019, UK sales of the numerous product flavour profiles, including Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate and Raspberry have been magical. The Bliss brand is now valued at over £12 million RSV.

Speaking about Chris P Mallow the unicorn, Neil continued: “We all absolutely love Chris P and it was a delight to see them out and about in Glasgow’s Central Station and Silverburn shopping centre enchanting the public and making everyone smile. We already have some exciting plans underway for Bliss this year and I’m sure Chris P will be back and bringing his magic.”

Bliss Crispy Mallow 95g (5x19g) is now available nationwide in Tesco stores, priced at £1.15. The wider Bliss product range can be found in selected retailers, including B&M, Iceland, Poundland and Home Bargains.
