Divine Chocolate launches Dessert Bar range

Divine – the world’s only farmer-owned Fairtrade chocolate maker – is set to launch a range of shareable Dessert Bars. Available through Amazon and www.divinechocolate.com from 9 February, and Ocado from the beginning of March, the new range encourages chocolate-lovers to ‘do dessert differently’ – just as Divine has been doing things differently in the chocolate industry for over 25 years. Inspired by the flavours of popular and nostalgic puddings, the new range offers a shareable and fuss-free approach to after-dinner sweet treats, tapping into the rise of ‘edible escapism’ as consumers look for small treats to brighten their everyday.

With nearly a quarter (24%)[1] of Waitrose consumers enjoying a dessert at weekends, but 30%[2] confessing to buying more sweet treats than ever before, the Dessert Bar range offers an effortless and shareable solution to after-dinner sweet treats. Inspired by the nostalgic flavours of three classic puddings including; Cherry & Almond Bakewell, Tiramisu, and Lemon Cheesecake, each Dessert Bar features Divine’s signature smooth and 100% dark, milk or white Fairtrade chocolate.

Sophie Loveday-Davies, group marketing director at Divine said: “We’re incredibly excited to be sharing our new range of Dessert Bars with fellow chocolate lovers. We know that in increasingly challenging times, the power of the ‘pudding effect’ is more evident than ever before, with people looking for small, tasty treats to brighten the day-to-day. Our mission at Divine is to spread a little joy with our deliciously decadent range of Fairtrade chocolate, so we’re delighted to now be able to offer consumers a Divine-worthy dessert with the launch of our Dessert Bar range.”

As the only farmer-owned Fairtrade chocolate maker in the world, Divine has been doing things differently in the chocolate industry for over 25 years. With co-ownership of Divine belonging to a network of 100,000 farmers in the Kuapa Kokoo farmer cooperative in Ghana, each bar of Divine purchased positively contributes to the future of the farmers and to fighting exploitation in the industry more widely.

The Divine Dessert Bar range will be available through Amazon and www.divinechocolate.com from 9 February and Ocado and Oxfam from the beginning of March. RRP £4.49.
