Graeter’s and New Riff Distilling announce Bourbon Ball Ice Cream collaboration

Graeter’s Ice Cream, the United States’ oldest family-owned and operated craft ice cream maker, has partnered with Kentucky-based New Riff Distilling to launch a new flavour: Bourbon Ball Ice Cream.

Inspired by the traditional Kentucky confection, the flavour features bourbon-infused ice cream combined with whiskey-glazed pecans and dark chocolate chips. The recipe incorporates a hand-selected single barrel of New Riff’s bourbon and marks a development of Graeter’s previous Brown Butter Bourbon Pecan flavour.

The new product will be available for nationwide shipping in the US via Graeters.com. It will also be stocked in all Graeter’s retail locations from Monday 14 April, and at the New Riff Gift Shop from Saturday 12 April. Selected regional retailers, including Meijer, Jungle Jim’s and Dorothy Lane Market, are expected to carry the flavour later in the spring.

According to Graeter’s, the collaboration reflects the two companies’ shared focus on small-batch production and traditional methods. New Riff’s Single Barrel Bourbon was incorporated into the ice cream using Graeter’s signature French Pot process.

Graeter’s president and CEO, Richard Graeter, described the flavour as “a fusion of our handcrafted process and New Riff’s distilling expertise”. New Riff president Mollie Lewis highlighted the shared values between the two family-owned businesses and praised the integration of their bourbon into the final product.

A launch event with complimentary tastings will take place at New Riff Distilling on Saturday 12 April, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. ET.
