Jeni’s Ice Creams introduces first range of Ice Cream Bars across US

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has launched its first line of ice cream bars, now available in freezer aisles across the United States. Known as J-Bars, the new products aim to offer the same texture and flavour characteristics as Jeni’s traditional pints, presented in a handheld format.
According to Beth Stallings, senior director of innovation at Jeni’s, “We made no concessions and took no shortcuts when making our J-Bars. We held ourselves to the same high standards that we do when creating every pint of ice cream — above all else, every bite had to be wildly delicious.”
The initial J-Bar range includes four flavours:

Vanilla Caramel Sundae – Vanilla ice cream with smoked almonds, a ribbon of caramel sauce, and a chocolate-flavoured coating. This flavour references the first bar created by company founder Jeni Britton.

Dark Chocolate Bombe – Chocolate ice cream with chocolate cookies and a chocolate-flavoured coating.

Passion Fruit Dreamsicle – Passion fruit and key lime ice creams combined for a tropical-style flavour.

Chocolate Churros & Cream – Brown sugar and Vietnamese cinnamon ice cream with chocolate and cinnamon cookies. This flavour is exclusive to Whole Foods Market.
The brand’s connection to ice cream bars dates back to its origins, when Jeni Britton hand-moulded and hand-dipped bars at the company’s first location in the North Market, Columbus, Ohio. Until now, Jeni’s ice cream bars had been available only in its scoop shops.
Jeni’s J-Bars are now stocked at retailers across the US, including Whole Foods Market, Harris Teeter, and select Target stores. Availability can be confirmed using the online store locator on Jeni’s website.
This product line follows the company’s recent expansion into frozen dessert formats beyond traditional pints. In late 2023, Jeni’s introduced a selection of ice cream sandwiches, including the Key Lime Pie variety, which was named a finalist in the NEXTY Awards at Expo West and recognised by People magazine as the best new ice cream sandwich of 2024.
