Jackson’s Chips, a US-based snack company known for producing crisps fried in avocado oil, has announced its entry into the vegetable straw snack category with the launch of Super Veggie Straws. The new product was unveiled at the 2025 Sweets & Snacks Expo in Indianapolis.
The Super Veggie Straws are made from four main ingredients: yellow peas, brown rice, cassava, and sweet potato. The product is fried in avocado oil and is intended as an alternative to traditional baked vegetable snacks. It is free from the top nine allergens (including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, and gluten), and contains no artificial flavours or preservatives.
The new snack will be released in three flavours:
Sea Salt
Cheddar (dairy-free)
Ranch (dairy-free)
The straws are also designed with a sturdy shape suitable for dipping.
Jackson’s reports that it has experienced recent growth in the US snack market, attributed to its range of sweet potato chips. The launch of Super Veggie Straws marks its first product expansion outside of crisps, with an aim to offer options for consumers seeking snacks made with alternative oils and minimal processing.
Super Veggie Straws will be available in several formats:
5 oz bags for standard grocery retailers
13.5 oz bags for wholesale/club outlets
2.5 oz peggable bags for convenience stores
The product will be available in the United States from next month via SnackJacksons.com, selected retail outlets and Amazon from July 2025.
