Ombar Launches Dairy-Free ‘Blonde’ Chocolate Bar at Tesco Extra

British chocolate brand Ombar is launching a new dairy-free product, Ombar Blonde, in the Free From aisle of Tesco Extra stores across the UK from 21 April 2025. The bar offers a caramel and vanilla flavour with a creamy texture, providing an alternative to traditional white chocolate.

Ombar Blonde is made using Fair Trade, organic ingredients such as cocoa butter, desiccated coconut, Madagascan vanilla, chicory root and caramelised sugar. The product is designed to appeal to consumers seeking plant-based, ethical and lower-sugar confectionery options.

Product highlights:

• Plant-based and organic: Suitable for vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free diets; one of the few caramel-style white chocolate alternatives in this category.

• Reduced sugar: Contains approximately 50% less sugar than traditional white chocolate, using natural sweeteners such as chicory root fibre – a prebiotic linked to gut health.

• Free from common additives: Ombar Blonde contains no palm oil, emulsifiers, artificial sweeteners or ultra-processed ingredients.

• Ethically produced: Manufactured in the UK using Fair Trade cocoa butter and responsibly sourced ingredients.
