Red Ribbon Awards

Yorvale, a small UK-based manufacturer of ice cream and frozen yogurt, has been shortlisted for a Red Ribbon Award.

Hosted by Family Business Place, Red Ribbon Awards recognise the achievements of family-run businesses of all sizes.

Yorvale has been shortlisted in the Small Business Category for its commercial success and contribution to its local community.

Lesley Buxton, who started the award winning business 25 years ago with her husband, Ian, says, “This is the first time that we have entered the Red Ribbon awards and we’re very proud to have reached the final and to put the Vale of York on the family business map.

The Red Ribbon awards are great for smaller businesses like ours (just 9 full time employees) as they enable us to compete against much bigger brands. At the end of the day, we’re all family run businesses and face similar challenges, albeit on a different scale.”

Winners will be announced at the 2014 Red Ribbon Awards Ceremony at the Goldsmith’s Hall.
