Gum brand wins award for innovation

Project 7, a mint and gum brand designed to provide a minty taste while giving back to seven areas of need, received the ‘Most Innovative New Products’ award at the 2014 Sweets and Snacks Expo in Chicago.

“We are so thankful for this award because it recognizes the innovation, quality and care we have invested in developing a product that we believe will help retailers retain new growth in the gum and mint categories,” shared Project 7 founder, Tyler Merrick.

The panel of experts comprised of industry representatives from some of the nation’s leading retail and wholesale companies, including: Duff Goldman, chef and owner of Charm City Cakes and food TV personality; Lempert; Harry Balzer, vice president of The NPD Group Inc.; supermarket dietitian Peggy Balboa; Tim Erceg of Hy-Vee stores; Dollar General’s Jennifer Dilts; Joe Grady, vice president of candy and impulse purchasing at Walmart Stores Inc.
