International expansion for ViPnuts

New York Delhi is extending its ViPnuts brand internationally with assistance from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).

ViPnuts were launched in 2009 as premium peanut snacks and are sold in hotels and bars as well as high end stores such as Fortnum & Mason. They are now being supplied to Canada, USA, Germany, France, Spain and Eastern Europe, and the business has more than quadrupled its turnover since its launch in April 2009.

Managing director Nina Uppal, says, “UKTI has helped my business grow by providing expert advice on things such as developing an export strategy, as well as arranging meetings with potential international distributors. We are now getting quite a reputation for our ViPnuts – I always knew we had an excellent product and brand, but it was really about how we shouted about it, and UKTI helped us do this.”

New York Delhi has taken part in a UKTI-organised market visit to Canada, to meet potential distributors and learn more about the export market opportunities there and shared a space at the SIAL food trade show in Paris. The UKTI London team also matched New York Delhi with potential Chinese distributors at a “meet the buyer” event at IFE, the UK’s largest food and drink trade exhibition, which took place in March. As a result, ViPnuts has been listed by two major distributors covering both Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.
