Clif nut butter filled energy bars

Clif Bar & Company has introduced what it claims is a category first – Nut Butter Filled Energy Bars.

Available in four flavours: Chocolate Hazelnut Butter, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Coconut Almond Butter and Peanut Butter, each bar is made with organic ingredients and includes a creamy nut butter filling.

Combining nut butter and an organic energy bar helps slow the release of carbohydrates to working muscles, Clif Bar & Company explains.

“As athletes ourselves, we know that different types of adventures require different levels of energy,” says Dan Hickle, vice president of Clif brands. “Clif Nut Butter Filled is a whole new kind of energy bar purposefully crafted for less intense athletic activities like a long hike or bike ride.”

Each recipe is non GMO, low glycemic and does not contain partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavours.

The four flavours are available at US retailers with an SRP of $1.79.
