The battle for the colour purple

Cadbury has won a partial victory against Nestlé in their long-running legal dispute of the use of purple branding as the UK Intellectual Property Office denied Nestlé’s bid to have Cadbury’s trademark of the colour revoked.

New European sales director at General Mills

Andy Foweather has been promoted to European sales director at General Mills from the role of sales director for General Mills UK & Ireland. He will be responsible for developing sales capability across General Mills’ European brands, which includes Häagen-Dazs, Betty Crocker, Nature Valley and Jus-Rol. He will be replaced at General Mills UK by Neil Barker.

Lekkerland increases turnover and profit

German convenience-wholesaler Lekkerland increased its turnover in Europe by €200 million to €12.2 billion during the 2010 financial year. “We are very satisfied with this development,” says Christian Berner, CEO of Lekkerland.
