Tyrrells back in Tesco

Tyrrells crisps are back on Tesco shelves five years after founder Will Chase threatened the retailer with legal action when it sourced the crisps from a third party.

Oliver Rudgard, marketing director at Tyrrells Crisps, says, “The new listing in Tesco is a great success for us and part of our national and international growth strategy. We are proud to be stocked in many of the major multiples in the UK as well as local farm and deli shops while our international presence spans across Europe and into the US and Canada.

“Our popularity is growing internationally and our most recent  success was securing new listings in Russia following our CEO’s trip to Moscow with the Prime Minister. He was asked to accompany David Cameron on the trade delegation mission which was a very exciting opportunity for a quintessentially English crisp brand from Herefordshire!”

The brand has also won listings with Marks & Spencer to provide four own-label SKUs from December, including Pink Himalayan Rock Salt and Lobster & Chilli flavours. It is also predicted that Tyrrells’ sales will hit £2.5m this year in the US, making it the brand’s second-biggest overseas market after France.
