Penn State Snacks has introduced its new pretzel flavour – Gammon & Mustard. The pretzels are baked, not fried, and contain 131 calories per 30 gram serving, providing a healthier alternative to crisps and other snack foods.

The new flavour is packaged in share-size snack packs with each 175g bag retailing at £1.29 and available to buy in Waitrose stores in the UK now and Asda stores in the Autumn. Steve Harger, from Intersnack, the company behind the Penn State brand says, “After carrying out extensive research, we discovered that people were looking for an extra kick to their healthy snacks and that’s where the Gammon & Mustard flavour originated from. As with all our products, the new flavour is low in fat.”

Penn State Snacks is experiencing a particularly exciting period of expansion as it develops its range further with additional pretzel flavours including delicious Worcester Sauce and half-coated chocolate flavours. As the first company to produce pretzels in the UK, Penn State started production of their signature original sea salted pretzel flavour back in 1996.
