Popcorn Kitchen set to release Cheddary variant

Popcorn Kitchen’s new deliciously decadent chapter began earlier this year with the arrival of four indulgent new offerings: Raspberry White Choc, Choc Mint, Lemon Drizzle & Choc Orange. Now, the brand is adding a welcome ‘savoury twist’ on 21 August with the anticipated arrival of a quintessentially English cheddar popcorn, made with 30% cheddar.

According to sales director, Louise Webb: “It was imperative to both Andy and I that Popcorn Kitchen’s ongoing pledge to pure, unadulterated popcorn happiness had to encompass our island’s finest foodie traditions, and nothing in truth shouts ‘irrefutably British’ more than a top-notch cheddar! As a savoury snack loving nation, cheese-themed nibbles have been a cornerstone for British snacking afficionados, albeit on many occasions the actual presence of real cheese (let alone a prime cheddar) has been a recurring dilemma.”

Savoury leaning popcorn is not new to Popcorn Kitchen; the brand’s artisanal small batch portfolio already includes a Sweet & Chilli, a Simply Salted and a Sweet & Salt that was the ‘classic,’ step-change flavour that first put Popcorn Kitchen onto a nationwide footing.

“Popcorn has universal appeal,” concludes marketing director, Andy Valentine; “Whilst younger taste buds invariably lean towards our sweet portfolio, many of our long-standing brand diehards have told us about their craving for Popcorn Kitchen to unveil a flagship savoury flavour that resonates with their ‘slow food’ preferences, bringing a little extra theatre to cheeseboards, canape trays or even as a light bite with a nice glass of something chilled.”

Popcorn Kitchen’s Cheddar Cheese (20g) bags have an RSP of £1.39.
