New managing director of ECR Europe
27 January 2011 – Xavier Hua has been appointed managing director of ECR Europe by the board of directors of the organisation, constituted by leaders of the European consumer goods manufacturer and retail industry. This move follows the announcement that ECR Europe will be the regional platform for collaboration of The Consumer Goods Forum, with a new governance and structure. In its first 16 years of existence ECR Europe had been managed by AIM – the European Brands Association.
Hua brings broad experience in supply chain management to the job. He was previously head of supply with Orange – France Telecom, as well as responsible for supply chain and strategy with Carrefour, Majorette and also spent time in the consulting business. While with Carrefour, he was involved in many ECR Europe and ECR France working groups and therefore has long-standing experience of ECR activities. He actively contributed to the formation of The Consumer Goods Forum in 2009.
“We are more than confident in Xavier’s skills and know-how”, says ECR Europe’s retail co-chair Ignacio Gonzalez, France Commercial and Group Merchandise director Carrefour. “We know that his double role at European and national level, together with our close relationship with The Global Consumer Goods Forum, will be strong assets for the success of ECR in Europe.”
