Protein-enriched ice cream

After a brand re-launch in April, protein-enriched ice cream Wheyhey has launched a high profile marketing campaign.

Ocado will the latest retailer to stock the range later this month. It will be joining Holland & Barrett, GNC, Wholefoods, As Nature Intended, Urban Kitchen, Planet Organic, Fitness First and Virgin who are now selling the low fat, no sugar products.

Wheyhey’s protein ice cream has the sweetness and flavour of ice cream without the sugar, fat and calories and is made from whey-based protein isolate.

It is low in fat and contains no sugar as it has its own natural sweetener. Wheyhey is naturally sweetened with xylitol, which is a naturally occurring alcohol found in most plant material, including many fruits and vegetables. It does not contain high fructose corn syrup – an ingredient that is often used in ‘healthy’ low fat frozen yoghurts that is incredibly high in sugar.

Additionally, each 150ml tub contains 165 calories and 22g of protein.
