Mars adds new ice creams

Mars is launching two new singles products – the Milky Way Magic Stars stick and the M&Ms cone.

The stick follows the launch of the Milky Way pouch, which saw double digit growth in 2010. The chocolate and milk flavoured ice cream is made with real milk and contains 69kcal per stick.

2011 is set to be an action-packed year for the M&Ms brand. In addition to a £6 million spend on ongoing brand TV advertising and the opening of The M&Ms World Store in London’s Leicester Square in Summer 2011, the new M&Ms cone will be joining the Mars family.

This summer will also see the re-launch of the Twix ice cream, supported by a £5million media spend across the brand. The new recipe will feature crunchier biscuit and a new caramel flavoured ice cream to replace vanilla.

Bep Dhaliwal, Mars trade communications manager, says, “Wrapped handheld multi-packs have been in consistent growth over the last four years, hence why we’ve chosen to innovate in this area using two of our most promising brands – M&Ms and Milky Way Magic Stars. We are confident our new portfolio will deliver success for everyone involved.”
