Give Nature a Home campaign

Walkers Shortbread is teaming up with the RSPB, a European conservation charity, to support its Give Nature a Home campaign.

The campaign aims to create an expanse of woodland in Britain to home many of Scotland’s most threatened wildlife species. Walkers Shortbread is offering an on-pack promotion where 10 pence from every pack sold is donated to the RSPB for native forest regeneration at the charity’s Abernethy nature reserve in the heart of Speyside. The promotion will appear across Walker’s Shortbread Fingers and Christmas Tree Tins, with each participating pack housing an impactful Red Squirrel design – one of the most iconic species of Speyside, that will be helped by the conservation initiative.

Jeremy Roberts, RSPB’s senior site manager at Abernethy, says “The pinewoods of Strathspey are enchanting places to visit.  They are home to a great wealth of wildlife, from inquisitive red squirrels, to beautiful twinflowers, fascinating ospreys, reclusive wildcats and bizarre-looking “tooth fungi”.  Abernethy is a home to all of these.  With this great support from Walkers, the RSPB will establish thousands of trees, making a bigger and better woodland for wildlife, and for visitors to enjoy”.
