Pink and blue eggs return

Ferrero’s power-brand, Kinder, is launching a second year of its popular Kinder Surprise Pink and Blue eggs this September, building on the success of the range last year that offered parents popular and relevant toys, alongside a much loved chocolate treat.
Research undertaken pre-launch indicated that parents would welcome Kinder Surprise Pink and Blue, with two thirds agreeing that having different coloured eggs made it easier for them to choose the most relevant treat for their child.
Available from September, Kinder Surprise Pink and Blue eggs will first feature Barbie Fashionistas and Transformer toys. The second burst will be available from December and the third from June 2015, with the toy range including Marvel Avengers, Disney Fairies, Sprinty and Fashion Dolls. Every limited edition coloured single egg will feature a licenced toy, whilst each three pack will contain one licenced toy along with two toys from the wider Kinder Surprise range.
Kinder Surprise will be supported by a £3.8m media spend in 2014-2015 – including TV, digital and shopper media. The Barbie Fashionista and Transformers launch will be supported by shopper media and £1.1m TV support behind a brand new 10-second TV tag in September and October.
Levi Boorer, customer development director at Ferrero UK comments: “Following the launch of Kinder Surprise Pink and Blue eggs last year, we were delighted to see such an increase in sales and look forward to bringing the limited editions back with a range of fantastic new toys combined with the great taste of Kinder Chocolate.
“We hope to help as many retailers as possible take advantage of this new opportunity by offering in-store support and a range of PoS materials suitable for all store sizes. We are confident that we will continue to increase sales with a second year of Pink and Blue, driving footfall in-store and overall category growth.”
