What price chocolate?

The Academy of Chocolate conference will be held on Thursday 16 October 2014 at The Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, London. Hosted by broadcaster and journalist Simon Parkes, global experts will be there to give their views on everything that contributes to the price we pay – or should pay – for chocolate.
Topics under discussion will include: cacao as a commodity; sustainability and fair trade; child labour; cacao genetics; geo traceability; and just what goes into bean-to-bar production. Other issues that will be considered include: what the future holds for both the industry and the consumer and what novel flavours, innovations and trends we can anticipate and at what price? There will be an opportunity to meet cacao and chocolate producers, watch master chocolatier demonstrations and, not least, to taste sublime chocolate creations.

The Academy will also be announcing the winners of its 2014 Golden Leaf Awards.
