Madagascan bean-to-bar chocolate company Madécasse has extended its range of ‘Exquisitely African’ handcrafted bars with the addition of a 100 per cent cocoa variant made using three of the country’s rare heirloom cocoa varieties.

The new 100 per cent cocoa bar showcases a blend of the pure ancient Criollo, Amelonado and Trinitario cocoa varieties and is available in a 75g format with a RRP of £2.99-£3.29.

Offering a complex flavour with layers of subtle acidity and fruitiness giving way to a slightly citrus finish, the new chocolate bar is being aimed at discerning chocolate lovers who are increasingly experimenting with unique cocoa varieties and blends.

The bar is sugar free, contains no artificial additives, preservatives or ingredients and joins the ‘Fair for Life’ brand’s other exciting offerings such as Salted Almond, Toasted Coconut, Espresso Bean and Sea Salt & Nibs.

Brett Beach, co-founder and co-CEO of Madécasse says:

“Consumer demand and excitement for high cocoa content bars and unique cocoa varieties has continued to increase with more and more approaching chocolate in a similar way to that of wine. Cocoa varieties, blends, quality and provenance have become integral to consumers so we are confident this latest launch will be a big hit.”
