Japanese Easter doughnuts

Krispy Kreme Japan is launching a range of Easter doughnuts.

From 16 February customers will be able to purchase a doughnut shaped like a chick hatching out of its shell, topped with shaved almonds and a chocolate and orange glaze and filled with custard for 230 yen ($1.95).

Also on offer will be a pink strawberry and marshmallow flavoured egg-shaped doughnut with a strawberry filling and a sakura glazed ring doughnut with pistachio and white chocolate chips, designed to mark the blossoming of the cherry trees in Japan. Both doughnuts retail at 210 yen.

Customers will also be able to purchase the doughnuts by the dozen or half dozen. The Easter treats will be available until 21 April.
