Directors and staff at Vale of York ice cream manufacturer, Yorvale are celebrating after its ice cream scooped six awards at the Great Yorkshire Show and the International Cheese Awards at Nantwich Show.

Yorvale’s new flavours, Sea Salted Caramel and Yorkshire Rhubarb and Custard both won awards at both shows, with Sea Salted Caramel winning the silver award at The Great Yorkshire Show and Gold at the International Cheese Awards and Yorkshire Rhubarb and Custard picking up a silver in Harrogate and a bronze in the Fruit Flavours category at Nantwich.

At the International Cheese Awards, Yorvale’s traditional favourite ice cream, Vanilla with Vanilla Pod won the gold award in the Plain Vanilla category and the Yorvale-produced St Helen’s Farm’s Goats’ Milk Ice Cream was awarded silver in the same category. The final Nantwich award was for the Chocolate Orange Ice Cream that was inspired by York’s confectionery heritage and won silver in the Other Types category.

Yorvale director, Lesley Buxton, says: “We’re very proud of the quality of the ice cream that we produce and it’s very encouraging to know that this is also recognised by judges at the world’s biggest cheese show.”
