UB adds 25% extra weight to snacks

United Biscuits (UBUK) will be adding 25% extra weight to its range of handypacks. Available now, the extra weight packs will be available for the Hula Hoops, Skips, NikNaks, Disco’s and Wheat Crunchies brands.

The packs will feature an on-pack flash communicating the larger pack size to give greater visibility for the range on shelf.  With an MRRP of 49p, the range will allow retailers to offer greater value to their customers and grow sales by stocking up on this new format.

George Johnston, marketing director of Bagged Snacks at UBUK, comments, “Price and value for money continue to play a crucial part in consumers’ purchasing decisions and remains a key focus for the snacking category.  With almost 16 billion snacking occasions and 650 million of those out of home snacking occasions, there is a massive opportunity for retailers to grow their sales by offering consumers greater value for money by stocking up on this new range of handypack snacks with 25% extra weight.
