Chilli pepper popcorn

UK-based Consett Popcorn Company has teamed up with Psycho Juice to create a super-hot popcorn snack made from the fiery naga jolokia chilli pepper, called Dr Burnörium’s Psycho Corn. The pepper is so strong that the team has to wear masks while making it.

Catherine Furze, co-founder of the Consett Popcorn Company says, “Unlike some manufacturers, who use flavourings extensively to provide a flavour kick, we only use totally authentic, kitchen-cupboard ingredients in our recipes… when it comes to chillis, the choice is endless.

“The Psycho Juice team are famous for selling extremely strongly spiced snacks and sauces and our challenge was to create a popcorn mild enough to be edible but hot enough to appeal to their die-hard customers.”
