Once in a blue moon

Wrigley’s is set to expand its range of chewy fruity Skittles sweets with new limited edition Once in a Blue Moon packs.

Available in the UK for eight weeks, the packs will include a cherry cola flavoured blue sweet as well as the existing blackcurrant, lemon, strawberry, green apple and orange flavours.

The packs will be available in both 55g single bags and 175g sharing pouches. The launch will be supported by social media and the ‘Touch’ television ad campaign which will run for a further 24 weeks between January 2015 and December 2015, as part of the brand’s multi-million pound investment for 2015.

Tony Lorman, Wrigley European Confections business unit director comments, “Blue is the only colour in the rainbow that is not a permanent member of the Skittles fruit family and the introduction of this limited-edition pack will enable consumers to truly ‘taste the rainbow’ and provide an additional sales opportunity to retailers.”
