Lip balm treats

Ameya Eitaro, a candy store in Japan specialising in edible lip wear has teamed up with Mattel to launch a range of tasty Barbie themed lip glosses and balms.

The lip glosses are made using a honey base with fruit powder and dried fruit added for colour, and come in six flavours: caramel; caramel and strawberry; chocolate and cranberry; chocolate and raspberry; black tea and mango; and black tea and silver sugar. You can buy a single pot for 648 yen ($5.50) or a set of three for 2,160 yen ($18.33).

The lip glosses come in three flavours, strawberry, raspberry and ruby grapefruit. Each costs 702 yen ($5.96), or alternatively customers can choose the Sweet Lip Barbie Gift, which includes each flavour and a Barbie charm, for 2,700 yen ($22.91).

These candy cosmetics are available for a limited time only, between 28 January- 16 February for Valentine’s Day, and 4-14 March in preparation for White Day.
