Whitworths taps into superfood market

Snack brand Whitworths aims to tap into the growing superfood market by launching its first ‘Full of Super’ range.
Available in selected Sainsbury’s stores, the range consists of three key snack types, each of which comes in two flavours: Flaxseed Crackers in Cayenne Chilli or Garlic and Herb; Maca-roons in Vanilla and Cacao, and Raw Bars in Cacao and Coconut.
The Flaxseed Crisps include herbs, quinoa, flax and chia seeds and buckwheat, which are naturally high in fibre and omega-3, are gluten-free, contain no soy or added sugar and are suitable for vegans.
The Vanilla Maca-rooms are naturally high in fibre and pantothenic acid, which is said to aid mental performance, and the Cacao Maca-roons are a natural source of biotin, which helps support metabolism.
The Cacao Bars are a natural source of thiamine, which helps maintain energy, while the Coconut Raw Bars are naturally high in Vitamin B12 to help reduce tiredness and fatigue. Whitworths says both flavours are high in fibre, gluten and soy free and are suitable for vegetarians.
“At Whitworths we understand that consumers are no longer prepared to sacrifice taste for health when it comes to snacking,” notes Phil Gowland, head of marketing at Whitworths. “Our new Full of Super range offers healthy choices, without compromising on flavour.”
